KidBiz Idea: Tic Tac Toe Boards
JUNE 11th, 2024
Summer is here! This is the perfect time for girls to start their own KidBiz. Kid businesses are a great way to keep kids busy all summer long, and they will learn some valuable life skills along the way. One of the trickiest parts of starting a business is coming up with a kidbiz idea, so we wanted to share a great one. These handmade tic tac toe games are a perfect item to sell!
Here’s what you’ll need:
• Acrylic Paints
• Paint Brush
• 10 small rocks
• 10 Craft Sticks
• Hot Glue or Elmer’s Glue
• Washi Tape (optional)

How to make Tic Tac Toe Board:
Step 1: Start by gluing craft sticks together to create your game board. We used hot glue, but you can also use Elmer’s glue. Take one stick and place glue across the whole stick and then glue each stick vertically on the one with glue. Be sure you have time for the glue to dry after this step.
Step 2: Once all 8 craft sticks are glued together, take the board and flip it over. On the last stick, put glue across it and glue above the first one to stabilize your board. While the rest of the glue is drying, set your board aside.
Step 3: Paint your rocks so you can use them as game pieces. Paint a set of five one color and the other set another color. Let the paint dry.
Step 4: Add some patterns or designs to the rocks with other colors. Set the game pieces aside to dry again.
Step 5: Take some washi tape to create tic tac toe boxes. You will need two lines going across the board. Try to make them evenly spaced.
Step 6: Turn the board and repeat step 5. You should have four lines and 9 boxes. If you don’t have washi tape, you can also use your paint to make your boxes!
Step 7: Once everything dries, you’re ready to find a friend to play with, or sell your product!
Encourage your kid-trepreneur to think outside the box with these! Maybe she can create themed tic tac toe games, or take custom orders from friends and family. We can’t wait to see how these turn out!
